ICO date: 13.12.2017 - 14.05.2018

CryptF is a cryptocurrency backed by stocks and bonds. It is an innovative way to invest in shares, while reducing risks.

How it works:

CryptF aims to let the opportunity to invest in blue-chip stocks and bonds from anywhere in the world. It cuts out expensive middlemen from this process as well as the need for a bank account.

The company introduces a set of cryptocurrencies hardwired to specific securities that are guaranteed to cost the same. This makes it an alternative for trading actual stocks and bonds.

CFIT coin is linked to stocks of 5 most performing companies in USA. These are Apple, Google, Netflix, Amazon and Facebook. CFGM coin is linked to 5 top game developers from all around the world, including Blizzard. CFBND coin is linked to bonds of 15 developing countries. All bonds that are included in CryptF portfolio show stable growth.

CryptF has an innovative idea in its core. The technology is not that groundbreaking, but a cryptocurrency tied to stocks and bonds is a brilliant idea that can mean significant change in the investment market.

Innovation score: High

Token value:

The company distributes 40% of its distributable profit to token holders on quarterly basis. The revenue will be transferred into ETH using a smart-contract. The profit will be divided in proportions to the number of tokens one holds.

Apart from that, CPTF can be traded on most exchange platforms, of course.

Token value score: High

White paper:

The white paper that CryptF presents is of poor quality. To start off, it only has 9 pages. On these pages there is an overview of the project, each subheading consisting of two or three paragraphs as well as information on the ICO sale.

No technical details are mentioned, and the mechanism of “linking” coins to stocks and bonds are not explained clearly.

White paper score: Low

The roadmap states that the project has been in development since February 2017 and they now have a working prototype. The plans do not go any further that the end of 2018. They include launching CFIT in April and the other two coins in May 2018 and distributing the earnings for the first quarter of the year in June.

No distinct marketing strategy is mentioned.

Roadmap score: Medium

Business model:

While CryptF sure sounds as a good idea, they fail to show how exactly are they monetizing the project and making it work. Business plan is simply not included in the white paper, so we can only guess what business strategy will CryptF use to make a profit.

Business model score: Low

The team is not big, it consists of only 9 members, 4 of which are presented on CryptF official website. The founder has a couple of successful projects in his portfolio, and the other members presented are experienced as well.

Team score: Medium

As far as we know, no other startup is on the market for now. Still, this leaves regular ICOs and stocks in CryptF’s indirect competition.

Competitors score: Medium

Overall thoughts:

CryptF is based on a great idea. It is a shame some aspects of the presentation make an impression that the implementation will not be as great. It is a risky investment.
