Adgonos is an ad-free mobile ecosystem. The company’s aim is to improve smartphone experience for millions of people worldwide.

How it works:

Adgonos is an app monetization framework that, the founders estimate, will eventually replace mobile ads, changing the industry. Right now many apps display ads to earn a profit, but this makes user experience poorer. Adgonos offers to let users monetize their data, getting awarded with ADG coin for ad views and the amount of time spent in the app. Thanks to blockchain technology, all users data is completely anonymous, and can only be used to draw general conclusions about consumer behaviour, not to profile each individual user.

The tokens awarded to customers on the basis of Proof-of-Usage can be either sold on the exchanges or used for in-app purchases with no transaction fee.

Developers of the apps can expect a revenue increase of up to 78%, a decrease of transaction fee of up to 97%, a boost of in-app sales due to ADG tokens being used and an increase in usage hours because that influences the amount of ADG given to users.

ADG coin can be mined using Adgonos SDK and Proof-of-Work algorithm. 25% of the mined coins are distributed to the mobile pool, a depot of coins that is shared by app developers and users. 79% percent go to the developers, 20% go to the app users and 1% is taken by Adgonos to cover operational costs.

Adgonos uses Proof-of-Work algorithms to control the value of ADG coin. It will depend on the speed of desktop mining. The company may consider changing to the other algorithm in the future.

As the amount of users grows and so do ADG in-app purchases, the value of the coin will start rising, allowing ICO participants to cash in on their investment.

The white paper Adgonos presents is rather brief, but explains the project well. It outlines problems that mobile app users face and offers their own solution. It also describes the mining algorithm in details and provides calculations of the profit mining can bring. After briefly talking about target markets and monetization model it details general ICO campaign information.

The company has only planned ICO related activities for the first two quarters of 2018. The rest of the year is going to be devoted to developing the platform. By May 2019 it will support desktop mining, the company will launch  ADG MainNet and start promoting in Asia. The platform will be fully released in June 2019. At the same time the company will start to enhance its market presence in Asia. By December it will start expanding to North America.

In April 2020 the company will start promoting in Europe and the Middle-East. In June 2020 they will release an updated version of the platform and will enhance monetization functionalities in January 2021.

Adgonos targets Asian market as it has the most smartphone users and miners, two groups the platform caters to.

Allowing monetization for all parties involved in the advertisement, Adgonos only takes 1% of the mobile pool to keep the platform operational. While this might not mean enormous revenue for the company, it certainly influences its popularity among users and developers. This means more profit for ICO investors and miners.

The team mainly consists of university students, so they have little to no work experience, but plenty of knowledge from top notch Hong Kong universities and their own endeavours in the IT world.

The CEO is described as “a full stack developer who is keen on constantly exploring new territories”. The CFO and co-founder is given a bio that characterises him as an “expert at analyzing statistical data and compiling definitive ramifications”.

The advisory board, however, compensates for the team’s shortcomings. It covers technical aspects, finance, analytics, marketing, management, design and has two legal advisors

While there are some companies such as Thrive (/thrive) that have a similar goal, monetization of user data, it so seems that no other prominent company is in direct competition with Adgonos. The company may have hard times marketing their product, but its expansion is not going to be stopped by rivals.

Adgonos operates on a simple and effective idea and charges a miniscule fee for their services. The only concern is the inexperienced team, but they should have enough guidance from the advisors to make it big, since competition is scarce.

ADG is a great long term investment, since it will take a couple of years for the platform to start growing fast.
